Upon receiving a recommendation to take my car to a local service provider for an oil change. All went well until I was informed by the technician that I also needed a new air filter and a battery. I knew it had been at least a year since the air filter was last changed, so I agreed to both items being replaced. I was completely dumbfounded when I was quoted a price of $199 for just the oil change and the battery alone. I could not believe it. Even when I asked for exact pricing for both services, I was still quoted an excessive amount for the battery. I politely requested the technician complete the oil change and bring me my car. As I drove off, I told myself that would be the last time I visited that establishment.
